Does Kemi Badenoch support Electoral Reform?
During a recent interview with the Daily Wire (paywall but reported at politics.co.uk), Kemi Badenoch, current leader of the Conservative Party, appeared to support electoral reform.
Although her interview focused mainly on criticising the Liberal Democrats with such Trumpian nonsense as declaring that the Party would “destroy the whole country”, she interestingly bemoaned the unfairness of Labour's 2024 General Election majority under the present First-Past-the-Post voting system.
If this was a country where you had proportional representation, [fragmentation across the political environment] would probably come out in the wash, but we don’t. So you will have a party like Labour, which has won a landslide majority on 34 per cent of the vote. That is a scandal.
