Let’s Fix Politics makes a strong start
LDER's Let's Fix Politics campaign got off to a strong start following its launch on June 6.
In just the first three weeks, more than ten local Liberal Democrat parties have signed up to take part, helping to spread the campaign's message across the country.
The campaign is also attracting new supporters, with over 300 activists signing up to get involved.
Just as importantly, more than 2,500 people have completed the campaign's Is Politics Working? survey. The responses will help build a clearer picture of public attitudes towards politics and democratic reform, and will inform the next stages of the campaign. Early responses are indicating an appetite for engaging people in the conversation about how our political system can be improved and how democracy can better serve voters.
Coinciding with the launch, we have also rebooted LDER's Fair Votes Watch Substack with an article by Roz Savage MP on why fixing our politics is essential to cleaning up our rivers. We've since published a second article exploring the relationship between electoral reform and housing policy.
If you are a Liberal Democrat member and your local party has not yet joined the campaign, now is the perfect time to get involved! Contact us and we will show you the materials we have produced and how you can easily incorporate them into your local campaigning.
